More Than a Smile: Building My Path in Hospitality

ABOUT ME

My name is Divine Ella M. Paladar, and I am a 19-year-old student currently pursuing a degree in Hospitality Management. I was born on May 20, 2006, and my zodiac sign is Taurus, which is often described as dependable, patient, and hardworking. I try my best to reflect these qualities in my daily life, especially in how I treat other people and handle responsibilities.

As a student in the hospitality field, I see myself not only as a learner but also as a future professional who is preparing to serve others with excellence. I understand that in the hospitality industry, first impressions are very important. A simple smile, a respectful attitude, and good communication can create a positive experience for guests. Because of this, I am focused on improving my personal and professional skills, such as communication, teamwork, and attention to detail. I believe that true hospitality is not only about service, but also about making people feel comfortable, valued, and welcomed.

 MY ROOTS AND VALUES

I come from a family that is warm, hospitable, and fun to be with. Growing up, our home was always open to guests, and I often saw how my family treated visitors with kindness and respect. We made sure that everyone felt comfortable, whether it was through sharing food, having conversations, or simply creating a happy and relaxed atmosphere. Because of this environment, I learned at a young age how important it is to be welcoming and considerate of others.

My family also taught me important values such as hard work, honesty, patience, and respect. These values shaped who I am today and continue to guide me in my studies and daily interactions. I believe that hospitality starts from the heart, and the way I was raised helped me develop a genuine love for serving others. This is one of the main reasons why I chose to pursue Hospitality Management, because I want to turn these values into a meaningful career.

MY UNIQUE SPARK

What makes me unique is my ability to combine discipline, creativity, and a positive attitude in everything I do. Every Sunday, I go to church and also volunteer to help in activities at Nazarene. Through this experience, I learned how to be responsible, cooperative, and service-oriented. It also helped me build confidence when working with different people and handling tasks with care.

I enjoy playing the guitar, which allows me to express my creativity and relax during my free time. In addition, I like watching movies and Korean dramas because they help me understand different cultures, emotions, and ways of communication. This interest is helpful in hospitality because it improves my awareness and sensitivity toward people from different backgrounds. I also enjoy singing with my family and friends, as it strengthens our bond and creates joyful moments together.

Aside from that, I enjoy biking and traveling locally, especially going to beaches. These experiences allow me to appreciate different places and environments, while also giving me time to reflect and recharge. Although I currently travel within local areas, I have a strong goal to travel around the world in the future. I want to explore different cultures, meet new people, and learn global hospitality practices. I believe that these experiences will help me grow both personally and professionally, and prepare me to work in diverse and international settings.
